Our Mission

To be the first gynecology practice in Maine based on the direct care model.

Put simply, to have a practice based on the care of the patient, independent of insurance companies. There will be TIME and OPPORTUNITY to delve into the topics of postpartum support, perimenopause, menopause, incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction, sexual function, and many other topics in a safe and unique environment.

Let’s take women’s care away from one of sickness and dysfunction, to that of individualized care.

About Higher Ground Women's Health

Dr. Lisa Parsons is a board-certified ob-gyn. She attended the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, from which she graduated in 2001. She completed her residency at Maine Medical Center in 2005.

As an entrepreneur and trailblazer, Dr. Lisa is excited to be opening Higher Ground Women’s Health, the first gynecology practice in Maine following the direct care model. She is so excited to be providing this service to the community, and to be following her inner compass.

We offer a full range of well-being, contraceptive, fertility, and postpartum support — led by a highly-experienced, deeply caring, board certified OB/GYN.

- One annual exam per membership year

- Pap smear if indicated

- Basic blood panel (CBC and BMP)

- Direct access to the physician line for same or next-day appointments, telehealth, and email

There is a $125 initial signup fee per applicant, 6 month minimum commitment, and $175 reinstatement fee if you cancel membership and reinstate.
